Mike Goodwin is a results-oriented professional with three decades of experience in institutional advancement. Currently the President and CEO of the Oregon State University Foundation, Goodwin is leading The Campaign for OSU, the university’s first campus-wide fundraising campaign. In seven years, campaign donors have contributed almost $800 million toward at $1 billion goal.
Prior to arriving at OSU in November 2004, Goodwin provided direction and leadership for comprehensive capital campaigns at two other major research universities. He directed the largest and most successful campaign in Georgetown University’s history, the $1 billion Third Century Campaign. He also developed and implemented Georgetown’s post-campaign strategy, designed to maintain momentum of the major gift program. Before his work at Georgetown, Goodwin held leadership positions at Washington State University, where he directed the first comprehensive campaign in the university’s history. He began his development career with Eastside Catholic High School in Bellevue, Wash. (now Eastside Catholic School in Sammamish, Wash.).
Goodwin serves on the boards of the Portland Business Alliance and The Oregon Idea. Since 2008 he also has served on the national Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Board of Trustees, where he is currently Treasurer, and is a former chair and board member of CASE District VIII. At the request of the U.S. Department of State, Goodwin traveled to the republic of Georgia in 2009 to help Georgian universities develop their philanthropic programming.
A native of Seattle, Wash., Goodwin earned his bachelor’s in English from the University of San Francisco and his master’s degree from the University of Washington.
